D Deployment + 1

I left home yesterday. It took flights from Jacksonville to LA yesterday with a shuttle to get to my first stop for NMPS. I should be here for the rest of the week. Nice weather here in Port Hueneme.

I left my family yesterday it certainly gave me reason for reflection on why we do what we do, especially in Navy Medicine. While I fill out all the redundant forms here I am trying not to dwell on home too much.

I have met one other FP who is on the same mission.

Happy Anniversary to my dear bride of 13 years.

Start of the Mission

There are several different ways to look at this upcoming year. Mission I believe is the most appropriate word for this endeavor.
I am currently on leave prior to shipping out. There are lots of things I need to take care of and settle here at home before I depart. I will have several stops for preparation and training before I arrive in country.
